Well, we did it. We hit the one-year mark, and somehow we are still here. And man, how far we’ve come. Not only do we have some steady/killer contributors, but we also have our very first intern, Tessa Harmon (shout out thanks to everyone at the Music Business program at UGA who set that up–she’s kind of awesome).
Besides our ever-expanding “staff” of enthusiastic volunteers, we have also had some truly amazing interviews. I’m not going to list them all, mostly because that would take too much time (a problem I am happy to have). But I will say that it’s already come farther than I ever thought it would. We’ve also been plagiarized in several countries, which, while frustrating, is also slightly flattering, if I’m being honest. But that’s not to say I’m all for being ripped off. Please…stop doing that.
So what’s next? Well, we are hoping to keep bringing you interviews much in the style of the poolside interview with Astronautalis—that video received a TON of great feedback. Also, we have recently been approached by one of the recording studios here in Athens to set up a partnership and start doing some in-studio sessions with them, so that’s in the works. There are a couple of other projects that are forming, but it’s too early to talk about them. Hang out for awhile though…it’s gonna be fun.
As always, I really want to thank all of the people who have helped make this pipe dream a reality- the artists, the publicists, the managers, the writers, the photographers, THE intern, my mom/business manager, the people at the Music Business program, and everyone who has had my back and been verbally/financially supportive of me this past year. I could not have done any of this without every single one of you. So truly…thank you so much. Stick around.
Em
