Crystal Fighters- Star of Love album release

By  |  8 Comments

Crystal Fighters are a British/Spanish “folktronic” (their full genre sounds something like this- synthtastic electro dance music fused with Basque folk influences …intriguing, no?) band that formed in London in 2007.  Today marks the US release of their LP, Star of LoveStar of Love was first released abroad in 2010 and has finally made its way across the pond.  The US-edition features new tracks “Earth Island” as well as a cover of Spanish band Golpes Bajos’ “Fiesta.”

A bit of a head’s up- don’t make the same mistake that I did and try to listen to this album with headphones on in a library.  You will make an idiot of yourself (or is it just me who can’t resist the urge to dance even if I’m in public?).  Star of Love will make you want to go out and dance.  Or stay in and dance.  Either way, it’s going to make you move.  Be prepared.

Crystal Fighters are officially on my party playlist- somewhere between Empire of the Sun and Two Door Cinema Club- as well as my radar of artists to watch.  They’re coming.  Get ready.

Favorite Tracks: At Home, Earth Island, I Love London, Plage

Album Rating: 3.5/5

Emily is an over-enthusiastic lover of music, books, movies, fashion, and culture in general. Her love of music spans across all genres (what is a genre anymore? she waxes poetic to herself), though she was nursed on true punk and will never understand “redneck country” music – tractors are not and cannot be sexy. Emily currently lives in Brooklyn, NY and considers herself to be a great wit, though she is still waiting on validation from a credible source.

I’ve gone ahead and bookmarked at Digg.com so my friends can see it too. I simply used Crystal Fighters- Star of Love album release | Vinyl Mag as the entry title in my Digg.com bookmark, as I figured if it is good enough for you to title your blog post that, then you probably would like to see it bookmarked the same way.
